The Care Center

Small rhythms.
Thriving worlds.

An aquarium doesn't need hours — it needs small, honest rhythms. Choose your world and learn the daily, bi-weekly and monthly habits that keep it alive.

The Golden Rules

Rules every keeper lives by

  • Cycle before fish

A new aquarium must complete the nitrogen cycle (growing nitrifying bacteria) before livestock is added. We can pre-cycle your setup.

  • Feed less than you think

Fish should finish within 2–3 minutes. Overfeeding is the #1 cause of water quality problems.

  • Never change everything

Water changes are partial (15–25%). Never remove and scrub everything at once — you would destroy the biological filtration.

  • Rinse bio-media in tank water

Never rinse biological filter media under untreated tap water — chlorine kills your bacterial colony.

  • Species needs beat general rules

Species-specific requirements override every general guideline on this site.
